Good area in Toronto to break in a bike?

This question may be born of anxious misunderstanding about breaking in a new bike, but after doing some research it seems that for the first 1000k you a) Dont want to be going a constant speed, and b) Dont want to get caught in traffic (ie stop and go with alot of idle). Seeing as I live in Toronto, what do you guys think a good area to ride might be?

The tuner/dyno operators at each of those shops all have 1000's of hours of dyno and engine building/break in experience.

You'll end up with a bike that is properly broken in and will perform as it was intended.

Save your money. Vary the speed, for the first 500 clicks, no constant highway speeds and you will have a perfectly broken in bike...... then get some semi or full synthetic oil... sorry i', a little off topic but......

I have to differ on the full synthetic oil after 500 clicks.
Most will confirm that you shouldn't use full synthetic until your bike has around 12,000 kms or so.

the logic is that even past the 1000 breakin the parts are still breaking in but most of the major wearing is done.

I am a full supporter of Full synthetic but not so early in the bikes life.

Chris i'm not sure about your statement. The tolerances today on most modern engines be it car or bike are so close that very little wear or break in is needed. At least thats my understanding fo it anyway. As a matter of fact some bikes come from the factory with synthetic oil ....

it is because the tolerances are so close, they require proper break in.

While the process does not take long, there is a definite advantage to doing it properly.

It is difficult to do this on the street without breaking the law by a long shot as most modern bikes will significantly exceed the speed limit in the first 2 gears.

500km is too long before the first oil change.

I keep hearing "no highway speeds". I'm a little nervous because I'm buying the thing in Bradford, and i'll need to get it back to toronto? Should I not take the 404 as I normally would? Should I take yonge? 1000 km is a very long time to not be able to go on the highway. Am I supposed to just putter it around the neighbourhood for 1000 clicks?

short blasts to 110 just vary your speed and dont sit at 120 all the way home , youll be fine so will the bike, OR take yonge st .... Your new bike is lucky to have you as an owner i can tell you that much LOL

What may be good for you is the bayview extension, it's like a mini highway in Toronto.
