You better tell the guys running the SV CUP it's not a sport bike.lol

It's not a SuperSport but it does very well on the street. I have no trouble hanging with anyone.

Overall I love mine,, Way more comfortable than my ZX7R, Get's great mileage, Makes a good Sport Tourer and has lower insurance.

The only weakness in my book was the fork is overly soft from the factory,, Some Race Tech springs and 20W oil took care of that.

Love the SV..its not considered a ""super sport"" you are right there...and yes its a little cheaper on insurance, but still a awesome bike to ride, and comforable on long trips.

And BTW...my SV is prettier than CBRJohns SV

Definately do the front forks. See if you can find a factory shock from a Kawi at some point to smooth out the back end a bit. Overall a great city bike, and an ok touring bike. If you are going to go on lots of long hauls, consider a Bandit or one of the other vtwins out there. Like the Vstorm. Same engine as the SV (basically) but a little more upright. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suzuki_DL650_V-Strom

That said, i LOVE my sv.

I'm selling mine now and I'd definitely consider buying another for my next bike because the balance between handling/power/looks/insurance is next to none. I just wish Suzuki kept the sexy curvy look going instead of that lean and pointy look.

I love my SV but it has lots of balls to put you into trouble if you are not careful. I had my share of pucker factor when I inadvertently gunned the throttle under breaking... But overall I am very happy with it.

I have a SV 1000, 650 for the year insurance.

    when I quoted a R1 or a Gsxr 1000, I was told 1500-2400

so I went with the SV, and loving it.

I have had two SV650S's and loved both of them. I now have an '07 V-Strom 1000. Once you get a taste of that Suzuki V-Twin motor 650 or 1000 you are hooked.

I actually saved money when I made the switch from the sv to the gsxr. Statefarm considers it a smaller bike due to the cc's.
