I did a little bit of searching, but the info must be buried in other threads...
I'm interested in doing some track days with my own bike and was wondering what the minimum criteria are in terms of bike prep. I've heard about the wetter water, taping the head light, safety wiring and such, but don't have any details.
What do you have to safety wire?
Is the Wetter Water a requirement?
Are there are any other fluids that need to be changed?
I've seen people suggesting the swapping of plastics, can I just remove some? Does the bike have to have certain plastics?
What else?

most organizers want the rad fluid swapped with water and water wetter... don't be an ***** and be the guy who doesn't swap it out and crashes and leaks the ***** all over the track
make sure your tires aren't too work down either, and I'd suggest taking out the fuses for your lights as well.

I heard someone made an aweful mess at Cayuga last year with coolant...
They should have dragged him behind one of the drag cars for a few passes.... with leathers on of course... wouldn't want to be too cruel.

have you read the sticky thread (the very first one) in this forum?
i'm no authority but can everyone agree...NO COOLANT PLEASE....
plastics...well if ur gonna remove it at least have case covers. plastics (even teh street kind) keep leaks to a minimum if u crash...get a set of race body work, spray paint if u have to may cost you $700 but you'll thank yourself later...
center stand can stay if ur picky zip tie it up...
tires, brakes, and make sure u have no leaks...and your engine kill should work. healthy chain and sprockts that's about it...

A guy's engine blew up on him, not too much could have been done to prevent it...it was a kawi, was bound to blow up any time...ahahaha.

Thanks everyone.
So just:
Coolant to Wetter Water swap
Tape on any lenses (headlight, etc)
Remove mirrors
Remove/secure Center Stand (if applicable)
That sounds easy enuff. I guess some of the things I've heard/read are really in reference to racing then...
Thanks again.

...or plain water works too.
Some other things that will be checked when going through tech:
- throttle
- brake and clutch levers
- brake pads
- grips
- footpegs
- chain
These will all need to be in good working order. It's not often that people are not able to participate in the Track Day due to these things, but you don't want to be the one person that is turned back due to not checking these things before hand. You'll also be required to tape up your speedometer. Finally, if you to remove or tie up your side stand, don't forget a rear stand (and a front stand also if you like). Just my 2cents. Have a great time when you go!

All good advice from everyone.Just one more thing tho.Bring lots of water or gatorade and a snack for yourself.Your muscles will cramp up,if you don't feed yourself properly and you'll end up feeling like a 55 yr old slow dood.Hmmm? Can you get "Super Gatorade"?

Amen.
Bring healthy food, track is like a full day work out in the hot sun. I guess you don't realize you're working out because you're having so much fun but I know my first few track days my legs were so sore. SO bring foods that can bring your energy up and brain functioning well, you need full focus. Banana's are a healthy snack, it helps you retain your fluids as well.
