    503, 507, Kinmount/Gooderham area

I was in Kinmount for work this week, and did a loop from Lindsay to Kinmount, then east to 507 for my return trip south.

All the roads in this area still have lots of sand in the corners. Sand is in middle of road, as well as shoulders. Shoulders are all washed out from runoff, and some sections actually have water covering entire area.

Keep in mind there is still almost 2 feet of snow in this area, and that means the roads aren't warmed up yet.

If you want to get out to this area, take it easy.

I rode 507 today (did a loop that went through Algonquin, Dorset, and back home near Newmarket.)

We only did 507 northbound but the bottom two thirds had no real issues.. if you are paying even the slightest attention then there wouldn't be any issues. The top half had a few spots off the car tracks but these were really easy to spot. I didn't ride it but southbound looked okay but I wouldn't swear to it.

I think the biggest issue I had on the 507 right now is worrying about Bill 203, but as always please ride safely.

ps: I did see a TON of deer in my travels today.

503, 507, and area seem to be spotless now except for the occasional black bear.

There's a 4 foot strip of pavement thats been removed right across the 503 bewteen Gooderham and Irondale.

    No warning signs.

As the gravel gets pushed out its going to be a nasty surprise

Here's an estimate of where it is

Thats no suprise .. every weekend will be like that now. After speaking with a local OPP cop, he said they've been told to patrol that section of road now.

No, you just need to ride a slower bike.
