    Shannonville and Mosport track temps.

Has anyone ever checked the track temps at Mosport and Shannonville? Whats the range from May-October?

We check the temps when racing all the time, but there are so many factors that you can't just post numbers. Depends on the ambient temp., wind, humidity, etc. not to mention type of pavement/asphalt - at times in July it's been 56C in the shade. What are you looking for - tire compounds and use?

Yeah, I'm trying to figure out if I should start off on a pair of softs (May-June) and then move up to mediums later (July-August) before switching back to softs (Sept-Oct)

    or

Run mediums all year which is pointless if the track isn't warm enough.

I've never used anything but medium fronts and hard rear at any racetrack.

I don't use tire warmers at trackdays, 1.5. lap for warmup and you're good to go, they'd probably be perfect after 1 lap but it usually takes me 2 laps to get motivated to ride anyway.

The harder compound will also last much longer.

You gotsta be a pretty amazing pro rider to make a medium slick fail (or do somthin really dumb) if its anywhere near its operating temp.

not contradicting you but its amazing how a rookie can sometimes do something to a tire a pro couldn't (it's just not natural to them i guess ) for the test weekend (if it's not raining LOL) i'll be using sc1 up front sc2 rear.
