highway 518 (Huntsville to Parry Sound)

I just tried the search function but it only showed todays posts.(could be the Mac)
This road was in terrible shape last time I was on it. Parry Sound sport bike weekend 2007.
Anyone know if work has been done to it?

I rode it from Tallyho-Swords Rd to Parry Sound late last year ((sept, Killarney run)
Good condition from what I remember, it was obvious they had/were doing work on it.

Last year it was under construction, in the process of being straightened (i.e. ruined).

I liked the *old* 518. That one kept you on your toes.

I road it a couple of years back. It looked like a nice road on my map, too bad the road surface was crap. It would be a nice road if they repaved the whole thing. But there is no run off area, over cook a corner and you're in the woods. I don't even think it had a ditch, just a couple inches of shoulder, a foot or so of grass, then the bush.
Support your local rehab and hope you never need it.

I rode it last year and what an eye opener. It was my first long distance ride and what a great experience, riding through all conditions except a downpour and snow. Gravel to pavement to sand and back again was a sure challenge for a newbie.

Unfortunately the road last year was not as good as it could be.
Hope the road work is well done and maybe the crew doing it could have a few beer during their shift so they don't make it too straight!
