    Tire advice and suggestions

Hey, currently my bike is on stock tires back from 2001 and they are still in good condition with plenty of meat left on it, but I'm looking into getin some new tires.

I'm not some track superstar or some brave star on the road, so any decent tire will do, I don't need anything super sticky.

I need something that is good for wet/dry road conditions and sticky enough for the occasional corner.

I'm currently looking at either Mich Pilot 2ct, Pirelli Corsa, dunlop qualifers, or Metzler m1 m3.

What will be a good tire for a regular rider in wet/dry conditions..

If you're looking for a high quality tire at a very reasonable cost, I'd like to suggest the SHINKO brand (formerly Yokohama).

    Read a review on them:
    http://www.motorcycle-usa.com/Articl...ArticleID=5460

Large block tread pattern with excellent braking, cornering and acceleration
Special compound improves grip and durability
Designed using width and angle of tread groove to remove water effectively on wet roads
Kevlar belted for the performance at high speed
Superior comfort and grip while riding on the highway

I'd like to suggest you go with F005/R005 supersport compound (medium). I have them on my YZF 750R, I love them!

All the tires you've listed are very good tires designed for sport with track use, but based on what you've said, you'll be fine with a line of tires that are designed more for road use, sport-touring.

Check the various manufacturer's offerings. The Pirelli Diablo Strata's and Metzler Z6's are a couple of examples although they're sister companies.

Today's sport touring tires will exceed most rider's capabilities, designed for the quick warm up, offer's excellent grip in the wet and will last a hell of a lot longer than pure sport tires.

Refreshing to see someone finally push Shinko tires. Everyone complains about how much this costs, and that costs.
If I can fill my car up with 4 Michelins & have them last 100,000kms for the same price as 2 bike tires that wear out 90% faster - SOMETHING'S WRONG.
For the price, and durability, you can't beat Shinko tires. I prefer the 009's myself.

You don't have to leave the house - place an order and about 10 days later, watch for Canada post to show up at your door. Check your PM's.

    Re: Tire advice and suggestions

Before you go ahead and buy Shinko tires, consider this, everything that comes out of Korea may do the job while offering unmatched affordability but at the end of the day, would you:

    a) drive a Hyundai if you could afford a Honda
    b) ride a Hyosung if you could afford a Yamaha
    c) trust an HJC lid to save your life if you could afford an ARAI
    d) put faith in tires from a company that bought 10 year old technology and perform R&D on motorcycles that are half the power of current model litre bikes when you can afford Bridgestones, Michelins, Pirellis?

I'm not rich (like the average person, I live cheque to cheque) but I don't mess around with my hobby, if I can't afford the good stuff, I don't ride.
