Are you sure you're not thinking of the Molson Indy? Grand Prix du Canada in Montreal (F1) is still on:
http://www.grandprix.ca/
um F1 was not canceled....the champ car races were
and we are going up on Friday to the guy that asked
I think I will go on Wednesday so I can make the trackwalk on Thursday morning, I have met quite a few drivers over the last 5-6 years on the Thursday morning.
Just a suggestion.
and Scwartz....mmmm.....First time I had shwartz was when my parents where going to McGill when I was 3-4 years old, and I think most of the same guys are still working there today hahaha.
yea i cant get that much time from work. And we will watch some qualifying sat..then the race sunday.
Try HWY 7. I know the stretch between here and Ottawa is pretty good at least. Did it by car though, lost of curves. Would probably add 2 hrs to the trip.

thanks for the hw7 route..... i guess we will just flip a coin before we go....lol
anyone else with some input before we head off next week?
First of all...shwarts is good but you need to go to Duns for a kick ***** smoke meat
http://www.dunnsfamous.com/montreal_smoked_meat.htm
or for the best michigan hot dogs / steamies around or poutine dont get suckered into la belle province "sorry SV lol" go to Lafleur's cantine in ville lasalle or various locations, it's right off the 20 "highway".

Both website have the most anoying music ever so be warned, it's no reflection on the food.
For the road, I did Toronto - Montreal on highway 2 and book some time dude cause it's a long way the back way but it's a really cool drive and I'm happy I took the time to do it. I got on before Kingston around Trenton and took me like 10 hours to make it to Montreal North.
Highway 7 will swing you way the heck around IMO and I wouldnt do it unless you really wanna make it a 2 day trip. I never took 7 to go up so I shouldnt comment i guess.
401 to kingston then highway 2 up should give you a good combination and give you guy's a break and if you ever get tired there's ton's of cheap motels on the way up.
If you ask me, 401 to Kingston, Highway 2 to Cornwall, Cornwall to Montreal on the 20, exit downtown or where ever you wanna go.
But that's just me. If you need an interpreter or something like that I'm here.
Edit : I did highway 2 in a 86 Hyunday exel missing an o2 sensor and chugging at 80 so you'll cut some time riding up that's for sure.

The artist formely known as Frenchfry
thanks.....
yea i figure exactly what u said 401, 2....then back on the major route to Montreal.
We are staying at the Sheraton at the airport
Anyone riding to Montreal this Wednesday afternoon? You have a riding buddy if you want one
BTW I still prefer Scwartz 100% over Dunn's, Reuben's or Ben's. But not a big fan of la belle province, I +1 Lafleur.
ZX6R
I just rode HWY 2 from kingston to toronto. Its kind of scenic, but doesnt offer a whole lot more in the way of views than, the 401 does. Plus there are a bunch of small towns where the limit is reduced to speeds as low as 40km/h
I had a fun ride, but i certainly wouldnt want to try to get to montreal doing roads like that. It would be torturously long.
I'm gonna be heading up to montreal for the weekend.
Just did a quick route on Google Maps according to previous suggestions.
Hows this? Too ambitious? hang on, I can't link anything for some reason.
EDIT: Google Link on next page
