    Scorpion Helmets

Just got my new EXO700 for the track.Seems comfy enough. It is a bit heavier than my Shoei RF1000,but not much.
Sorry to shop across the border, but at $255 delivered to my door (with a spare tinted visor),it's a very good deal.

How do these compare to HJC helmets ? As in weight, comfort, wind noise.

You know, I like those helmuts more every day. They are such a good value. I like these guys at Sportbiketrackgear. I'm going there next month, I might pick one up. Thanks for the post.

This is a pretty good vid about the helmut and it's features.

looks like some pretty good deals!

im wearing an HJC CL-SP XS, would the sizing be similar with the Scorps? I think i tried one on last year at Parker bros for a while, and the small was snug...yes i know, its best to try it out at a store and then order it, but just wondering if anyone else has had experience with the sizing differences.

    cheers.

Wow! Congrats on finding a "real" deal out there! I'm almost tempted to get one myself - a spare helmet would be nice, but probably not necessary!!!

Cheers to the find and for posting up!

    Check out their site...

BTW, does anyone have the chin/aero skirt for their Scorpion? Is there a big difference in noise reduction? What about air circulation?

Just be aware these helmets are rather noisy and heavy. Apart from that good value for sure.

I'd have to agree on the noise, you'll want earplugs for anything past 60km/h. As for weight, my hasn't bothered me, even on the longer group rides I've done.

    Re: Scorpion Helmets

I have been sponsored by Scorpion for years before they came to Canada and have used them exclusively. They are awesome. The price is great if your buying them but beyond that I have crashed a bunch of them and they preformed excellent. As for noise I always wear plugs anyway so I cant comment on that.

My scorpion helmet is the lightest I have. I agree on the noise issue but hearing the bike scream never bothered me and i love it. Ive got my 3rd scorpion helmet on the way.

I have an EXO400, and my wife as the EXO700. Maybe it's just because this is the first helmet I've owned in the 20 years since I last got on a motorcycle, but I don't find them exceedingly noisy. And they are much lighter than what I used to wear.

I haven't been on any long rides yet, but I don't imagine the weight will be a problem, and on long trips, I wear the earplugs.

    Cheers.

    Re: Scorpion Helmets

Don't get me wrong I am sure they are a perfectly decent helmet. I first saw them at the Indianapolis Trade Show when i was investigating new products to carry a few years back but I was more interest in the model prancing around in a cat suit to be honest. I later picked one up and tested it out. It just wasn't my cup of tea visually and whistled a lot through the venting, I found it a little heavy too but I am used to European OGK not a fair comparison of quality and weight and design IMHO. I can certainly see the appeal with the price point and possibly they improved since then.

    Re: Scorpion Helmets

You are correct Simon. The EXO700 is 123 gm heavier than my RF1000.(about 4.3 ounces). If this were a street helmet i would probably think again, but it's only going to be used on the track. The fashion police would catch up to me with my yellow Zemke on the Muffin.

Yea, I wear a small in every other brand but my Scorpion is a medium

I don't kno about the other models, but my 700 has 6 vents, more airflow=noise, but = cool head and = helmet not stinking like a gym sock
