I got a 170 ticket which was reduced to $60 in court.

in the end, it was worth it. I paid 100 for the detector, 60 for the fine. it saved me 4 times.

nontheless the work hear in toronto. the US is moving to laser, but since we have the no detector law, the police feel there is no reason for them to move to lasers
Glad to hear you escaped relatively unscathed

I gotta disagree with you on the laser. Toronto cops use the Laser Atlanta and LTI guns almost exclusively for their stationary speed traps. Although they sometimes forget to turn their radar off .... lol Ssshhhh dont tell

On mobile they use the Ka 33.8 MPH unit

Not for any RD offenses but I got 2 speeding tickets in 2004 one after another and that launched me into doing research and my interest snowballed from there.

So are they illegal to own or just to operate in a vehicle? If I ordered one off of eBay would it get held at the border?

You're OK to own one, just not to turn it on. Makes a great, expensive paperweight.

I cant explain why its not there. I've been told by Leos about the revision and I know from people that have been charged within the last 3 years.

I'll see if I can find another link here it is

    http://www.e-laws.gov.on.ca/DBLaws/R...h/940339_e.htm

Regulation 339/94 (Section 20 - Item #37) states that section 79 (2) of the Highway Traffic Act (Drive motor vehicle equipped with or carrying a speed measuring warning device) carries 3 demerit points.
