Consider the Pilot Road II - although I don't have personal experience on a pair of them yet, I did like the CBR 1100 that I put a front on

If you want a price on a set let me know

FWIW, I always get a kick out of people advising to take a different route home because ya seen it all on the way down and it'll be boring. You must have some super duper photographic memory/ attention deficiet disorder. If I really like a route I wanna see it from both angles. I've ridden with guys who 1; are positively anal about not retracing a route 2; ride way to fast 3; put in way to many hours. Riding alone is tops. I've met many great locals who wouldnt have approached me if I were bunched up with me mates. Enjoy!

Colorado, California and Utah are awesome, but if given the choice of seeing those states again or seeing Washington, Oregon and South Dakota on the way back, I'd gladly choose the latter.

    But that's just me.

How many times could you travel from T.O. to L.A. and not repeat the same route? About a gazillion, I'd guess. That somebody needs to be advised to take a different route home to see different scenery is kinda 101 ish. I'm just commenting that the trip isnt a bust because you retrace your route. Jus' sayin'...

    Re: TO LA and back

Approximate route that I did (avoiding most interstates). Major waypoints

    North to Sudbury
west on TransCanada to Thunder Bay (Go north at 129 Chapleau then to Wawa, bypassing Sault Ste Marie)
    Fort Frances ON
    Kenora
    Winnipeg
    North between the lakes
Wander west on northern Manitoba / Saskatchewan sideroads to Drumheller Alta
    Calgary
    Banff
    Jasper
West from Jasper to BC interior
south through Williams Lake then down the Okanagan valley
Highway 3 to Hope BC then on to Vancouver
    ferry to Vancouver Island
across interior to west coast of Vancouver Island
    south to Victoria
    ferry to Port Angeles WA
all the way down the coast highway (there are tons of backroads into the interior to explore if you have time)
San Francisco (wander around the backroads in Napa Valley)
do not forget to stop at Alice's Restaurant south of San Fran!
another good place: Avenue of the Giants - HUGE redwood trees
south on Coast Highway to LA ... explore the canyon roads - LOTS of them
don't miss Ortega Highway and the Angeles Crest Highway
then north on 395 into and through Death Valley
out the other side into Arizona, over Hoover Dam, to the Grand Canyon
north into Utah to Great Salt Lake (Southern Utah is mind blowingly beautiful, but the Salt Lake stinks ... literally)
east into Colorado through Rocky Mountain National Park
    into Denver
    then beelined it home ...

    Re: TO LA and back

That sounds like a great ride, I've done portions of that (spread over almost 30yrs. yikes) My friend rode out to Vancouver Island this summer on a 1971 BMW R50/5. He (Lornce) has a ride report on Advider.com. Excellent read.
