Suggestion: chroming, anodizing & powder coating.

Chroming, anodizing, and powerder coating comes up often enough. Two thoughts

    a) there should be a sticky for what places to go in gta with general "what to expect"
    b) on the bottom of the sticky people should encouraged to msg up in techinical that they're doing a batch if they'd like to get others in on it to save costs.

It'd be nice if people stopped being lazy, learned how to use search, and stop relying on other people to do their research for them. The number of topics beaten to death repeatedly in multiple posts, even condensed and then stickied, would fill 2 or 3 pages of 'stickies'.

Wow, great support there. OTOH, why not set up a new section with the most asked questions and get the Mods to actually do something and move and merge the threads there. Then all the answers would be in one spot. This would be a better use of their time than what they are doing with the Replacement Variable Manager.

    Chroming:

And these are only the posts with direct links to businesses that do Chroming.

    Anodizing:

Yes, the search function is so difficult Rolling eyes smilie back at you.

The mods don't do anything? Way to be supportive of them!

People don't read existing stickies as it is, on high traffic topics.. what use is one more that'll be ignored?

I never said stickies, I said its own section, reread my post. Plus the OP was making a suggestion for the board. It seems Paul puts more effort into stopping the slang word for police than making the board more functional.

The OP was talking stickies, and that is what i am responding to, in terms of my assertion.

Another section for "where is it or where do i get it" posts? .. i don't know, isn't it either a general discussion, technical discussion, or even a reviews discussion type topic already? How many sections do we need?

We've had the legal discussions section formed, and yet people still post repeat-post legal topics/Bill 203 whines to general discussion..

A sticky was only part of it (and in the technical forum as well) so it's not another in ther general.

But the key point was the 'encourage people to post if they're getting a partial batch of stuff done so other's could join in'.

Thank you for volunteering. There is a FAQ on this board where frequently asked questions can be entered along with their answers.

Please feel free to shoot me an email with all the popular questions and answers and I'll be happy to post in the FAQ.

And thanks fro the help and support!!

The FAQ Manager is just a poor mans editor. Why would you want to reinvent the wheel and cut and paste into that when you can move and merge existing common threads into a single FAQ area? This speeds up searches, cleans up your database and gets rid of duplicate posts. If you're that busy, I can help you with that.
