from this law's point of view, sitting on your bike is also stunting.

The new law reminds me of this Jasper Quote from Simpsons... Just replace 'Paddling' with 'stunting' or 'Racing' and replace Jasper with Cam Wooley.

"Talking out of turn, that's a paddling. Staring out the window, that's a paddling. Looking at my sandals, that's a paddling. Paddling the school canoe, you bet that's a paddling." - Jasper

If a cop lights me up when I'm riding between cars in a downtown traffic jam, I'm taking off. It's much easier to run in and out of side streets than it is on the open highway. Hell, i'll go on the sidewalk if I have too.

I don't think that was the question.

Unlawful? Yes. Something that would result in vehicle impoundment, a one week license suspension, and a possible $10K fine? Ummmmmm...... no.

You're not planning on auditioning for one of those bike chase scenes in an upcoming movie? Just make sure you hit crash one of those fruit stands for added effect and a couple cardboard boxes along the way.

And knock over a few garbage cans in an alley while you're at it.

Yes, I'll be a one-man movie chase cliché. If I'm lucky, a couple of guys will be moving a big plate glass window across the road.
