Glad you're ok...you sure you didn't hit the front brake in there somewhere? I've learned my lesson the hard way, rain + front brake = crash...

On my way home from work, going through Bowmanville, light rain, was behind an SUV, slow traffic through town. I had pulled in my clutch to downshift cause traffic was slowing more through town, and thats what i remember...pulling in the clutch and the front end went right out from underneath me. I was on the downhill in front of the Country Style Donuts. I went for a slide but the worst was watching my beloved bike sliding down the road, that scraping grinding sound, to see it smash into the back of dude's suv. I WAS WEARING FULL GEAR. If I hadnt I would be wearing road rash right now. All witness" concur that I was NOT speeding or tailgating, even the guy whose truck my bike hit. Everyone says that they saw the bike flip right out from underneath me. When the officer arrived he took statements ect. and wrote it as road conditions'. ( Refer back to my recent rant on how much I dislike my pilot roads....) A HUGE thank you to Officer Mark Lempke of Durham Reginoil Police. Thank you for all your help. The bike seems to be missing a few pieces...mirrior,windscreen,ect...but hell, yeah, I am riding it to work today. It just looks like a stunt bike now! I'll be the coolest mom EVER on my f4 stunt bike! And...go and get frame sliders, the best investment. If I did not have them,my whole side would have been a complete write-off. Instead I have a really chewed up slider. Thank you for reading my tale of woe...See you on the road!!
that sucks to hear you went down, at least you weren't injured...
u must have hit something (road irregularity) to just go like that...
"Rides are simple, we all leave together we all go home together."
Glad you are ok too and hope you are not too ouchy. Good for you for riding today and hope to see you soon chickie.
T
glad your doing ok.
I don't even remember if i touched the front brake or not. One second I was up, the next second I was down. I can't get the picture of my bike sliding away from me,watching it...Oy Vay....I feel like those slo-m0 things in bad movies...Myyyyy bikkkeee....Nooooooo.LOL. Damn, I am stiff and sore today! I have a headache and I need my Advil.
at least you're ok and will be riding again..the watching the bike slide away from you does suck though (been there)
ooooooooow biker mom with a scare ........ hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhot
cheer up gal atleast you didnt smashed your bike on your 3rd day and missing a cop by a inch
btw if you wanna sell it ill buy it
Another thing that saved the bike( other than a different rider!LOL) was my metal Givi luggage racks...er I mean stunt cage, yeah, uhh, like ,stunt cage, that i had installed this summer so i could do groceries on the bike. Ummm. I mean so i could do endo's and stuff, NOT groceries....Dang, i am so un-cool.
Glad to hear you made it out alright. That's what matters. The bike is fixable. When I went down, I had the same reaction but I didn't see the bike sliding. The first words out of my mouth after getting my breath back from being winded were, "Ahh man! Look at my bike!"
By the way, an F4i with bunny rabbit hand warmers is the coolest grocery getter you can have.

Hmm, you reminded me that I still remember clearly my crash, lol. The, Oh S&*t realization is still vivid in my memory, that and seeing road go by as I slide on my face. Kinda felt like a snowboarding slide after falling... just not as long.
At least you are "OK" and the parts can be replaced unlike "MOM".

Glad to hear that you are otherwise okay. Rest up, and advil is your friend.
BTW, one thing worse than seeing your bike slide away from you is watching your bike slide towards you -- fast. Trust me, you won't like the latter, especially when it's followed by a solid, meaty "thump"...
So glad you're ok... another friend had an accident on the DVP last week... people, please be careful....
Security transcends technology
