    Gas Cap Maintenance?

I've got an older Kawi ('90), and the gas cap breather is starting to get a little stuck. Stiff putting the key in & turning, and it looks like one of the metal flaps in the keyhole isn't closing under the keyhole properly, and after some spirited riding there's a strong smell of gasoline as well as a little leakage around the keyhole.

What's a decent gas & rubber valve safe lube to use in there? I really really don't want to disassemble the whole thing to see what's going on in there.

WD-40 is bad for seals, that's why you never use it on your chain.

The breather for your tank is usually built into the cap, you'd be surprised what's stuffed in there (took one apart ONCE, never again).

I would think that power washers have damaged more O and X ring chains than WD-40...

    Wow, post 1,000 for me!

The most common problem with motorcycles is the nut that connects the handlebars to the saddle.

Yeah, but brake cleaner works alot better at cleaning chains than WD-40.
