Also if anyone needs any help, a buddy of mine imports vehicles from the US. Here's a little info about the guy..

"Larazza Auto Sales is committed to saving Canadians $$$ on the purchase of NEW automobiles, motorcycles and boats. Send an e-mail of the Make and Model of the vehicle that you are looking to purchase to larazzaautosales@gmail.com and we will respond with a quote within 2 business days. We can also arrange for the shipping and importation of a purchased motorcycle from the US to Canada. Please contact Joseph @ 416-684-1268 for further information."

dealer accepts MasterCard? i want those airmiles on $4k

BTW, wouldn't it be cheaper to have all the bikes shipped to us here then driving up there and wasting time and money??

I was thinking about doing the same thing. However, I am lazy and if you want to do the work, I am happy to participate. I was looking at getting a 2008 Kawi Concours 14 non-ABS, depending on the deal I can get.

I believe we have to be there at the boarder for the importing process anyways, but to answer your question, it'd be great if the dealership could just put all of our bikes in a cube truck, and deliver it to our doors or a certain central location in GTA.

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll be sure to add it to my list of questions when I email the dealerships.

Just to be sure, by "all the work" you don't mean for us to bring the bike back up for you as well right?

That is correct. I have a cube trailer that can bring back two bikes. I just meant all the front end work!

Not sure how that would work, would you send them a cheque/draft for the cost of the bike and taxes/importing fees and then expect them to pay all the fees at the border and do the paperwork? I know I wouldn't want to pay out all that money at the border not knowing if the cheques I got are legit.

some dealers take credit cards, but figure 3% on thousands is alot of money to lose

Thumbs up Re: Group Import for next season - Sign up now!

One more place you probably should look into:
    http://www.hondaeasttoledo.com

Looks like a large sized dealership with all kinds of makes and models. For some reason their prices on cycletrader.com come up one of the lowest Located under 500km from Toronto.

Re: Group Import for next season - Sign up now!

I'll be interested in the 250R in Blue. But the Cdn. Kawi site has not completely updated the 2008 offerings and the prices. If they are bring the 250R to Canada for around 4K, I would prefer to buy it in Canada instead.

Any chance this can wait until after the Dec dealer motorcycle show? I think we should see what the final 2008 offerings and especially if the manufacters are adjusting the 2008 prices to reflect the stronger Cdn dollar.

    Just something to think about:
I work in the auto industry and I know for a fact if you buy a honda in the states there is no warrenty in canada for the vehicle.
Also I have heard that companys in the states are being warned not to sell to canadians, ie Bombardier powersports dealers in the US will have there franchised pulled if they sell to Canadians.

I don't know if it was mentioned but paper work to the border has to be there 72 hrs before you bring the vehicles back to Canada.

Not to burst your bubble but things are changing by the minute with cross boarder purchases

I am not sure why you guys worry so much about a 1yr warranty from dealers. Usually nothing goes wrong with any bikes in the 1st year. unless if there is recall which most brands have been in production and less chance. even if there is then just ride to buffalo about an hour and get it fixed. I rather save few thousand then get a waranty for 6 months.

And nothing selling to canadians oh well, their loss just go to another deaership. i have seen few in buffalo that in their webpage, say canadian sales welcome. and screw bombardiare or how ever you spell that sh&^ I never liked them anyway. lol

    +1 for a sticky

On a different note. At some point this group is gonna be too big to manage. Can you imagine going through this process with 30 other people?!
