    Southwood 13

FYI- Did southwood 13 Sunday. Just to let people know it's in very rough shape. Really starting to break up and quite a bit of sand.

Did it on Saturday, had to go around the curves at less than 40kmph, so much sand / gravel, didn't know what to expect. Parts of it was torn up with pot holes and bumps. i think it would be better suited for a dirt bike or dual sport...

Did that road for the first time last year. I was hoping to hit it agian. Too bad it sounds like it had a rough winter.

I really liked the train tracks at the north end of the road. I think I scream something like holy **** in my helmet as I sailed accross them.
Stop reading my posts and get out there and RIDE.

This is very sad news for me.... I loved riding that road and was looking forward to it this year. It seems like we have to head out further and further each year to find good roads...

fun road, but each ride i've been to on SW 13, someone's gone down. very technical unless you take it very easy. maybe they'll leave it in the rough shape it's in to dissuade riders... that'd be a shame tho...

went up yesterday (sun may 6) damn it was brutal. I cant even call it a road any more, some parts sorry alot of parts are a beach and if your not riding on sand you might as well be in a gravel pit. Rode it for the first time last year and it was the best..................not a total loss the fish and chips in bala were good

I was there on the 5th, definetly not worth the trek up....Roads are busted up, way too much sand. Defintely wait for a big rain fall.

that sucks I never had a chance to rip it myslef and now its done.. hopefully someone out there will fix it for us!

    Re: Southwood 13

I hope they dont. The odd spot could be fixed but the sand adds character to the road and to the ones who use the road. If you cant ride on sand your not really a rider so quit kidding yourself. Public riding has hazards. Sand and broken pavement are just some of those hazards.
Get over it or get off.

Last year most of the pavement looked almost brand new. And now it's already broken up?

that rode leads almost directly to my girl's cottage, so I ride it often.
I usually just take it safe and easy just because it's a fun road at normal speeds.
I always stop at the Torrance Barrens and walk down to the lake. It's a very relaxing place.
