    If it's illegal it doesn't matter if permission is given. If a prickish cop sees it as an offense you could get a ticket. A civilian can't legally wave you by or wave you through a stop sign etc.

    cops ride side by side in the same lane all the time. They should be giving themselves lots of tickets.
