Wait, so you bought gear to wear while riding and you ended up selling your bike?

Yeah i thought i'd ride longer into the summer before i got a decent offer... hence the gear purchase.

I'm a bit torn on what too look for: i wanted to try a cruiser/ muscle-sport-cruiser if insurance isn't bad ..and i think it will be... I'm afraid a docile cruiser may bore me.
I'm a glutton for descent twisty performance (just to know it's there..haha). And it should be something easy on the eyes.
    Still considering some sport bikes.
Also looking at some oldies is it a bad idea?
Most likely can't afford a new anything though.

Why not a modern UJM or standard sportbike? Comfort+carving+power+torque what could go wrong?

What is it?and does it shoot something or transform?

I'm going to start checking out bikes this week. All i know is 2 wheels are better than 4. I did think standard sport bike if i find one sexy enough. what does UJM stand for?

Just a thought not that i'm dead set on it but for comfort how is a 06-07 Busa compared to a 600rr?

    Re: Gone baby Gone

UJM stands for Universal Japanese Motorcycle. More on the term in this wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Univers...ese_motorcycle
Essentially a very standard bike that can do it all, but not to a surgically excellent degree like a dedicated supersport, touring bike, trials bike, etc.
GOogle some info on these bikes (all available + sold in Canada in the last decade or two): Kawasaki ZRX, Suzuki Bandit, Yamaha FZ6/FZ1, Triumph Speed Four(not a true standard, just a street-fightered TT600), Triumph Speed Triple, Triumph Street Triple, Ducati Monster, Suzuki SV650/SV1000, Kawasaki ZR-7, Kawasaki Zephyr (550,750,1100), or either of the Honda Hornets (599,919).

If you're looking at a Busa why not a B-King? I know they're a little unusual to look at in photos, but they have an undeniably intense presence and is sort of like an ultra UJM. I've seen gingerly used B-King's for sale at pretty low prices too in the GTA.

I've given you a list ranging from Japanese I-4s to Italian V-twins, stripped down super-sports to dedicated UJM/standard sport-tourers; all of which are bikes I would be glad to have for different reasons. Good luck and if you get a chance to ride any of these do it! PM me if you want to check out a Bandit.

Very good idea if you aren't too keen on doing longer rides. Small displacement supermoto set-ups are maniacally fun.
