just go about the regular way...

-Report it to the cops and tell them the truth, tell them mods that might make the bike stand out ( i doubt it will help )
-MAKE SURE you get the cops information and report number so that when you contact your insurance company they dont make you do the run around
-contact your insurance company and give them the report number ( I'm with state Farm and i heard that it takes them a while to pay out sometimes ) so write everything down they say and get them all the info they ask for ASAP

Good luck with everything bro and hope its a quick process..

As others have said, report to the police and then get the police info to your SF agent.

While waiting for SF to process your claim it would be a good idea to do your own research on what the value of your bike is. Look at the various online for sale sites. You don't necessarily have to accept what SF offers if it seems too low. If you have done your research you will have a better idea of what you should get. If you have put a lot of money into modifications you may or may not get much back in return and many mods don't increase the value of a bike.

if you did any big mods to it, i hope you kept the receipts. i've heard from some customers that they kept all their receipts from stuff like getting the bike painted, or other big money mods, and the insurance company will pay out the amount from the mod receipts. Don't know if it will work or if its only with certain insurance ompanies (one customer was with jevco) but it might be a good idea to keep all your mod and servicing receipts just in case and do some more research on it.

The mods have to be reported to the insurance company when you're insuring the bike or after you modded it, otherwise they're only responsible for the stock items replacement.

Repo'd, impounded or maybe make a "Dude Where's My Bike" movie from this? Whatever the case I hope he gets the bike back.
