Steering lock

Okay so i have a question about steering locks on motorcycles.
I got a ninja 250 and thus far I have not been able to lock the steering. The key wont come out of ignition when its in the lock position. I feel like maybe its broken or something? I got the bike used from someone and I'm wondering if possibly this could be broken? If so are they expensive to fix?

try turning the bars towards the centre position while turning the key. it might not work at the full lock position
, just a few degrees off the stop on the left side only. does the key come out in the park poition?

I would just jiggle the bars as I pull it out.

Thanks for the advice guys! It worked!

- after reading that
post about bike thieves I got all paranoid about my bike sitting in my locked garage

even with a disc lock on. But I got the steering lock to work finally now too! >_<

Lol just glad it works

sure if someone wanted to steal it the steering lock wouldn't matter a whole lot but at least it's another hindering factor

It's just one more hassle for them to deal with, so it's a good measure to take.
