I'll admit....there are some nights where I run out of things to look up in the internet. I guess I don't have enough imagination.

I work nightshifts about 7 shifts a month.
Part of my job responsibilities I can surf the web or read to pass time.
The other part of my job I cannot.
Can't go on the web, can't take my phone out, can't sleep.
Can't even get up to pee without getting someone to sit in for me.
Just have to stare at the screen and wait for something to happen.

Read a book or study something. I wasted good 8 years worth playing PC games on my laptop, and I regret that every day. Get a pair of dumbbells and exercise if you are not into studying. Just my 2 cents.

I mess around on my ipad a lot, and yeah its quite a colossal waste of time
I find after 2-3am that I have a real hard time concentrating enough to grasp concepts in a textbook... leisure reading is a little easier but even then, I start to nod off or find myself reading the same page over and over because my train of thought jumps the tracks and slams into a warehouse...
the exercise idea is good though.. I already hit the gym 5-6x a week but I could always bring a skipping rope and bang out my cardio here

restricted sites, like i said... corporate security does a good job of locking most stuff down, and if you start using too much bandwidth (streaming vids/music) the next day you'll log in to find THOSE sites restricted too
