Deductible for Direct Compensation Property Damage?
Just getting a quote through Belair Direct for auto insurance, and selecting a deductible for direct compensation property damage is an option that I have never been presented with before.
Basically, to select a $500 deductible would save about $50 a year, but in what circumstances would one receive a payout from DCPD -- is that if someone hits you? Or what?

Yes, a DCPD claim would be occur in Ontario where you are in a not at fault accident with another Ontario motorist (or a motorist from outside Ontario who is signatory to our rules).
Example, you get R/E on the 401 by another Ontario motorist. The damages to your back bumper are $5000. You would get $4500.
