    SM handguards?

Hey guys Im moving along in my SM build, and Im starting to look into hand guards...Personally I dont like the look that much compared to without them, but I really want to protect my Brembo front master as it cost $700, and knowing me Im going to ball it up a few times at least. So far I like the look of the Acerbis supermoto guards best from what Ive seen, but not the fact they say Acerbis on them in big letters on the front...So Im looking for other suggestions for a slick looking set of guards? What are you guys running? Pics would be great too...

    Thanks

Could just sand off the name, I use them for single track and they take a beating (metal bar in them, not just plastic). The name actually comes off pretty easily.

I have the acerbis and am not happy with them. They have a metal plate, yes..but that doesn't stop them from rotating up and down during a crash (ask my old magura master).

Cycra uses a much better mount that doesn't allow as much up and down movement in my opinion.

I like the Zeta stuff I actually bought like 10 parts from them that are anodized blue already, they even have billet mounts to mount to the triple clamp to stop rotating in a crash like georgy mentioned...So they would match with all the other parts I have, and I like how they are very slim...My only beef is there is no slider on the ends, one crash and your wearing the aluminum down...Id have to add some sliders

+1 to cycra, the set for my ktm has replaceable sliders, they've taken a few good crashes too, only beef is the orange faded.

Go with the cycra pro bend handguards but get the low profile shields. I have the acerbis but they suck. The mounting hardware is junk - I swapped it out for enduro engineering mounts. The wrap around alumunum is weak and bends easy. The cycra is much better all around and has a bunch of mounting options.

I agree. The top triple mount is certainly going nowhere. Very solid, regardless what you do with the bike ... LOL

You just reminded me to switch to the low profile (I didn't realize they would fit). It might buy me a few clicks of speed as well .... LOL

    In addition to those...
use these for the other side of the guard. - Makes the guard far more resistant to rotating on the bars.

I run enduro engineering handguards with the bar inserts canukwr250 posted. Takes a serious hit to move them around.

Still managed to break a magura clutch master cylinder with them on though.

Go with The Cyra, and run them without the goofy plastic, they just do their job and you don't really see them.

That is so sweet! And solves the single worst problem I had with my acerbis guards.

Where did you order them? Im not a fan of the $20+ shipping they charge on their side....I think thats a little too much for 2 bolts, 2 inserts, and a tap that can fit in an envelope
