Are different drunks from different liquors a myth?

What do you guys think? My friends & I were talking about it the other & I looked it up when I got home, but I'm getting mixed reviews. One camp says that alcohol is alcohol & has the same effects; the other camp says that the different ingredients, ways of brewing, etc. all play a part in how the alcohol affects you?

What do YOU guys think? How do Gin, Wine, Rum, Scotch, Whiskey, Rye, Tequila, Vodka, etc. affect you?

All I know is that I can't handle my tequila. lol

What do you guys think? As always, stories involving alcohol or anything alcohol-related are welcome

    +1 liquor kicks my ***..

But on the side of different liquors affecting people in different ways... Its true, my whole family my self included and rum do not mix. We get abnormally angry and enraged. Now if were drinking beer or Rye we're the funnest happiest drunks.
One time I was drunk on rum and knocked my buddy out for no reason...

Scotch messes me up. Rye/rum/beer/wine I can 'feel' kicking in. Scotch kicks me first ... hard.
Better to regret something you have done than something you haven't.
