    Ducati 696

Im (possibly) in the market for a new bike. I currently have an '07 ZX6R.

I came across this bike in Edmonton, he is asking $10800, I have been in talks with him. I think he is willing to let it go for $9800. Im looking for your guy's opinion on his asking price. He does have the aftermarket exhaust on there, its worth about $1500 retail.

Also, what do you guys think about going from a SS to this bike? Will i notice a huge difference in power? Will that 696 be a too short of a bike for me as i'm around 5'11 - 6ft tall.

    Appreciate your help!

Unfortunatly, Theirs no used ones anywhere in Alberta or Saskatchewan. I just called a dealer in Edmonton. He said OTR would be 11,900 for a non-abs 2011.

Its a little too pricey for my liking.

I think it may be a big difference in power, not only in HP but the way it accelerates and lack of top end vs the ZX.

Also with your height you may feel cramped, have you sat on one? Take one for a test ride at a dealer if you can.

Way too expensive. I think you will find it under powered too. If insurance isn't a concern look at this one.

You're looking at a 40-50% reduction in peak horsepower.

It will be noticeably slower on the highway and in higher revs. With that said, its geared much lower and has more torque down low and in the midrange..so it will feel faster up to about 60kmh and around town.

I'd definitely aim for an 1100.

I went from a 2006 Gixxer750 to a Hyper 1100. REALLY miss the horsepower, but love all the torque! I took the 796 Hyper out for a test ride also and would never swing a leg over one again, it was useless. The 1100 also feels gutless at the top end, but is crazy awesome up to about 150.
    Go with an 1100.
