    Supermoto wheels

Well I cant seem to find any used sets of smr wheels, and all the places that I could get a decent set of rims a little cheaper are all in the US.Im going to have to bite the bullet and buy some KTM smr wheels for around $1.233 otd. I also emailed Pete at supermoto specialties and by what I got out of his email is that he is kinda in between shops and does'nt have any wheels in stock for my budget. There are warp9 wheels with brakes and sprocket for $899. in the US but im afraid with shipping and duties I will end up paying more than I will at GP bikes. Can anyone suggest some tires for some street but mostly track use?

    Thanks
    Fred

I suggest Bridgestone 090's on a light bike. I did a trackday on Kneedragger's FZR400 on them. Fast warmup, and kneedragging sticky. No idea how they last.

It is much easier if you have a friend in the US to ship to. Saved me a bunch on getting dirt rims for my DRZ.

Have you tried Tony at Blue Streak Racing? He doesnt really specialize in SM, but he beat everyones price on Marchensins for me...Same price as online stores, but tax included and shipped to my door...Pretty much the usual deal with him, he seems to meet or beat everyone on everything I ask him for..

your stock caliper with an offset bracket will be fine.

Put a braided steel line on it and go ride.

    Bike has braided lines.
I would like to do that but these wheels have a braking 310mm rotor on them.So I think I have to go new rotor or new caliper. What do you think I will have to do?

Are you sure its not a 320mm rotor....I dont see Braking offering any 310mm rotors or brackets, they do sell 320 rotors and re locator brackets for the stock caliper to fit those are only about $100

I dont see any brackets for a 310 rotor, you might have to change the rotor to a 320 and get a 320 bracket

Thanks thats what I was thinking also because the 310 was a radial brake setup,I dont even see the right bracket in the KTM hardparts cataloque. The 310mm is a 4piston setup and that caliper is over $500 without the relocation bracket.

If you have a radial caliper and you want to use a larger rotor, its simple you just add simple caliper spacers between the caliper and bracket. However that is not possible on a conventional mounting style caliper, for that you need the bracket to be specific to the rotor size...

This is a simple radial caliper spacer, they move radial calipers out to accommodate larger rotors...For example my bike uses 300mm rotors and radial calipers, if I want to use 320mm rotors all I need its 10mm caliper spacers

you can buy a 320mm re locator bracket for you bike for about $100 and depending on your budget you can spend $100-500 on a 320mm rotor...Or if your want it on the cheap, run the 310mm rotor you already have with the 320mm bracket, and shave 5mm off the top of the pads...I do this on a mill for some brake caliper setups we run where the calipers pads does not cover all of the rotor

    Like so
