Rwanda, Soviet Russia, Mao China, Rouge dudes in Cambodia.... Boohoo, poor Jews, they tried to kill us. I'm damn sorry it happened, but come on. We all remember, hence why it hasn't happened again here, but ya'll are doing a horrible job at stopping it from happening around the world over and over again.

It was quite entertaining, right up to when he visited the Carlsberg Brewery in Copenhagen
    Denmark.
Where he postulated, that the Carlsberg Brewery was built by the Nazis.

Sorry, but the Elephant statues, decorated with Swastikas, on each side of the Carlsberg Brewery Entrance, date back to 1847.
Long before the German National Socialist Party came to be.

Anyway I did some research, and found this.....

The Canadian Hockey team look good, wonder if much of the Canadian / American Swastikas exist today ??

Obviously I am talking about the 3000 years BEFORE the Swastika was adopted by the German National Socialist Party, and subsequently the Neo Nazis.

Friggin incredible that you have to spell everything out these days,so the hawk eyed PC nazis do not have anything to whine about, on behalf of people who were never offended in the first place.
OK It might not be so bad in Canada, but here in Europe, we have .....issues.
    LOL the Edmonton Swastikas.

I care because my last name does end in a berg, and I have lost family members in the holocaust.

Atrocities happen every day, you're right, but it's rare that a single movement of events affects so many people throughout the world
OH an institute run by Jewish people... sounds like a real unbiased source of information. I don't discount what happened but i am tired of ****in hearing about it. I grew up in Canada every November 11 we would have some holocaust survivor come give some speech saying how terrible it was and blah blah its been milked enough. Let it go. Israel to this day gets a disgusting amount of foreign aid in the billions of dollars. And for what? To displace more innocent people. Lets face it if it weren't for the Holocaust there would be no Israel. This horse has been beat to death already through every step of our school system. I don't think its a conspiracy. I think its human nature, to perpetuate what benefits you.

Of your 10 million figure if we are to assume it correct about 6 million were Jews. How many of the other punished party do we see seeking financial reparations and making movies and institutes dedicated to it?

I love how the media can convince people that a Jewish or North American life is somehow more deserving or sacred than that of any other. Its shameful really. But go ahead, nothing in the world has ever been as bad as the Holocaust... When people get killed in some poor *** country big whoop, not enough movies or books, or money there to give a **** about it.

I agree with this statement, but if scale is all that makes this atrocious, and you believe the numbers are probably overblown, then by right the slaughter of bosnians, kosovars, sudanese, rawandans, armenians etc should be considered no less horrendous.

Huh? Like I said my grandfather was there. My wife's, too... complete with tattoo.

You cant deny that Jewish people tend to be the most vocal about keeping the holocaust in our collective memory. The rest of the world kinda just moved on...

I don't blame them for not letting it go if i went thru that i would yell it from the roof tops to stop it happening again. We've seen other nut bar leaders kill their supposed people so maybe it isn't right to stop talking about it until it stops to all people in the world by a nut bar supposed leader

Of all the people who went through it, only one group is still clinging to the events and using it to push an agenda.

Millions of other people died all over Europe and Russia. Entire cities were flattened into oblivion.

Holocaust overblown? Boo hoo, poor Jews? I'm completely appalled by some of the things written here.
My wife is Palestinian-Lebanese, so I'm VERY aware of the disgusting actions of the Isreali government, but anyone who attempts to diminish the gross atrocities that happened during the Holocaust is, at the very least, extremely misinformed.

Yes, similar actions have followed around the world, and should be recognized as such. But we don't have to diminish the suffering of one group to prove a point.

As for the swastica, it's a symbol of pain and suffering to so many CANADIAN military families. That's enough reason to me to maintain its "taboo." You can't turn back the clock.

Swastika Ontario still exists. Berlin Ontario IIRC was the old name for Kitchener. Berlin Ohio changed the pronounciation of "Berlin". To each his own on the symbol. For me, I don't need a swastika on me or a cross on my shoulder, star of David etc to indicate my religion lifestyle etc.

Hey guys I must admit my opinion of certain people has gone down in response to their posts in this thread. I really wish I hadn't read this. Though we are all welcome to our opinions.

While buddy has a point. The swastika has and is not always in referance to the Nazis, I do know that to those who see its negative side it is an extremely negative symbol. All symbols have had various meanings over the years. Heck the pentagram used to be a christian symbol and can even be found in old churches for example.

But I think sensitivity needs to be shown when we know that there is such an extreme flip flop of meanings. And that is not really being shown here. As much as I love debates I do not see how this thread is going anywhere good and it is in fact hurting people which I don't like.

    Sorry folks.
