    Looks like it only has 2 inputs for CD and phono. Does it require a separate phono stage or is that built in?

    You need a separate gain stage for phono. Decent tube phono will cost you as much as this whole amp, as it takes a lot of effort to design and build a proper (no noise) phono stage.
