Unhappy Ivan at I+M Leathers has passed away

Ivan Mavrinac of I+M Leathers in Hamilton has passed away after a brief but very serious illness. There will be a memorial at the new shop 257 King St Hamilton at 3pm on Sat April 14th. Ivan has been in the Leather industry well before the 80's and has made leathers of champions in roadrace, speedway, dirt track and snowmobile racing. He could make, modify or repair anything leather. He will be sorely missed by his friends, family and customers who, were pretty much friends too. The world needs more people like Ivan, not fewer.

That's too bad. Master craftsmen like Ivan are getting fewer and fewer as the years go by.

Damn. He made the wife's leather jacket and chaps 12yrs ago, they're still in great shape today.

    RIP Ivan.

Ivan has done work to all our leathers, including making my boys first set- fully custom complete with speed hump- they are in a shadow box hanging in the play room downstairs right now. RIP Ivan

Wow ... this is sad news. I've never dealt with him but I know plenty who have. My condolences go out to all of his family and friends.

I just heard about Ivan, a great person and a truly great craftsman. He made my racing suit back in 2005 and has stood up and still is in great shape. My thoughts and prayers go to his mom that I met briefly. He will be sadly missed. May you Rest In Peace my friend. I'm sorry that I missed the benefit.
