    2005 r6 oil change

    Hey guy,

    Got 2 quick questions

    1) how much oil does a 2005 r6 take with filter change
    2) when checking the oil with the dip-stick, i assume warmed up, let sit for 5 min and check? Also upright? Lastly to you screw the dipstick in to check or just dip it in?

    thanks.

    2.6L with new filter
Warm yes. Check on level ground (not stands)
Not sure but I've only ever just dipped it.

On the side of the clutch cover it'll show you a number, that's how much oil it holds not including the filter.

You do NOT screw the dip stick in to check it. You have it right, run the bike, let it sit level for a few mins, check oil. Add a LITTLE and repeat.

Make sure you use a quality filter on your bike, Baldwin Premium "long" B1402, Purolator PureOne "long" PL14610, etc.
