    Hello from Mississauga

    Hey everyone,

    I'm new to this forum, was referred by a friend.

    New to the bike world, just got my M2 in Sept and picked up a 06 1000RR... been working on it all winter.

    Insurance was a pain to find... finally did. will be on he road in 2 weeks.

    Welcome aboard. While it's not the bike I'd recommend for a rider to start on, the odds are at least 80% that nothing will happen to you while you're learning the ropes

    Yeah I know. I grew up with dirt bikes. A Liter bike is a big jump... oh well give me a week or two and ill be riding with the big boys

    Welcome to GTAM and congrats on getting a bike. Be careful out there - you're gonna be hearing that a lot!

    for my 06 1000RR - Comp + fire and theft = approximately $500 a month

    WoW, ok thanks. I thought perhaps it was a pain to find cheap but it doesnt appear thats the case.

    Indeed, they are bunch of thugs. And worst thugs in Ontario.

    Welcome to GTAM!! I would assume OP got insurance through the Facility Association which are not thugs lol - it's actually a place where all the insurance companies pool some of their funds to provide insurance options to the "hard-to-place" risks. Nobody makes money or commission from selling or setting up a Facility policy - it's more like a last resort. Either way, ride safe, be patient, and insurance and all the rest of it will work itself out.
