I am planning to trailer down to deals gap leaving the sunday about noon returning the sat anytime. I have room for 1 in my enclosed trailer pulling it with a ford ranger. Can store alot in the 5x8 trailer trailer equiped with bike pro's.
Looking for someone to share costs gas and motel making it more affordable for both riders and with that many days can ride along blue ridge parkway as well as the dragon. Buddy lives down there says plus 20 daily now so hope it will improve later into month.
I have to work around my child custody arrangment so can't really leave earlier and can't come back later. Could shorten the trip but would like to get more then the 3 days I did last time to much to do in only 3 days for such a long drive.
I know short notice but got time off and want to make use of it.have to meet up before to make arrangments and make sure i'm not taking TIMMEY down there.

A little too close to the dates in question for me to get time off. I'd be interested otherwise. Have fun on your trip though!!!!
Wasn't there another rock fall this spring washing off part of the road?
I expect to be riding down that way on the 16th or 17th, but no interest in trailering a bike. My destination is actually South Carolina to visit friends, not sure if I will ride Deals Gap on my way down or take other, less crowded but equally as interesting roads.
People may want to go, but can't arrange it with your timing. Try in May!
Try in June, July August and even September or October.
We had two or three nice weeks - but get ready for April showers and the last few years have seen many days of rain in West Virginia and Tennessee - many floods - even Pennsylvania had floods and bridges out last spring in the 144 and 44 areas.
Good luck and enjoy it.

Down here in 14 hours and at 7am was already 70 degree's and now at 3:25 its 77.8 and pure sunshine and calling for the same sunny with low 90's for rest of week until Thursday.
Not to crowded down here, Honda car club with about 50 cars, maybe in the range for 100 bikes so far today. great riding weather only need a tshirt under your jacket or you'll sweat to death.
thats it for now did this while eating now back to riding.

Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handlebars to the saddle.
Faster, faster, faster, until the thrill of speed overcomes the fear of death.
I'll be down from the 28th to May 5. Taking a n00b with me this year... although he's ridden lots and even done some track stuff, this will be new to him.

Ya its great down here. Loads of bikes have just left. Nice being here on sunday thru the week. Less bikes makes the runs better. Most drivers here very good to bikers pulling off to let you go but a few people that hold up tons and didn't even bother at the times they could let them pass.
Enjoy your time down here loads of great roads and people.
