An hour on the phone later and I am still no wiser as to why the rate increase on the Tuono. I have no new tickets, etc. and it seems pretty ludicrous to me. *sigh*

The Tuono went up $250 this year and is on par with the GSXR now. Wtf.

I don't know much about the Tuono, but why wouldn't it be on par with the GSX-R1000?

A lot less horsepower, heavier, standard seating, no fairings, superbike/standard bars, v-twin, different intentions...
When I bought this bike it was $680 for full coverage, about what my GSX-R 750 was (more sense, since it made not much less power) and of course I (and it) was four years younger... now I'm paying $930.

i was looking into this bike but couldnt find any used ones close enough and couldnt justify the insurance hike. that being said it was with jevco and it had the same insurance price as the z1000, FZ1, and other 1000cc sport touring bikes etc.
its considered standard/sport touring by jevco. atleast it was for me about 3 weeks ago when i was looking for a new bike.

It was priced the same as the FZ1, actually. Now... same as a zx-10r? Really? More discussion with Primmum will ensue.
