You might want to review the car driver's handbook as well as the motorcycle one - there's questions from both on the motorcycle written test. Good luck, and it's up to you, but I suggest that you don't ride until after you've taken the course.

I owned a 250 ninja 2 years ago when I first started, and it's definitely a great bike with a long of nice handling! But as someone else mentioned, definitely drive within your limit, don't try to chase other people, especially on turns etc. I've seen many people getting into accidents trying to mimic others, thinking they can do the same thing and then got scared and... well... didn't turn out so well.
I did my M2 with RTI near the docks, and they are pretty decent, the teachers I had were very encouraging and taught us a lot of great skills to handle the different situation, and I definitely learn quite a bit from there. Planning to do my M with them later this year too!
I've switched to a zx6r since then and still enjoying every bit of it. Hope you enjoy too!
This is kind off topic but!
I bought my bike used and its got a scratch along one side on the decal (its a ninja 2009 special edition) so the white decal on one side is scratched in one place. Anyone know where i could find a replacement decal for it? Ive been looking on the web, but no luck.

Reading through the ministry book helped me to pass my M1.. it's how I learned about things like the blocking position, etc. I would recommend it.
Katt, make sure you are prepared to pass the G1 portion as well. A lot of people forget/don't realize they are both required to get your M1.

This site is what i used to study for it, I got 22/24 and perfect on signs and the road knowledge part.
Is there a percentage you need to pass and get the license? like 80% or something?

S'up, Katt. I'm in Ptbo also, east city, just got my first bike and my M1 last week. Once I get a bit more comfortable on this thing, I'm gonna be touring a whole lot as I have all summer off! If you wanna ride some time and are at a loss for riding buddies, give me a shout!
Welcome to the site and to the motorcycling community... you're going to love the experience.
For the test, I suggest reading the ministry book. I also found an iPhone app that covers a lot of the questions. Don't forget (as mentioned above) that you will have to take the rules of the road (G1 written) test and a "signs" test... no matter how much driving experience you have (actually, if you wrote those two in the last year, you don't have to re-write them).
I'm sure there's still lots of sand on the turns up in Peterborough so watch out for that. Otherwise, congrats on the new bike and have fun.
