As OpenGambit says, involuntary intoxication can be an effective defence, but it can also be a tough row to hoe.
Having a BAC that's well below the legal limit is a hell of a good place to start, if there is still evidence that intoxication caused the crash. Having a blood test showing the presence of the "date rape drugs" also helps, as they are rarely taken for recreational use. If a blood or urine sample is taken, then such drugs can generally be detected for a couple of days afterwards, contrary to the CSI "undetectable" crap.
She needs the medical records, at the very least, and the services of a good attorney.
