    Wind damage

More of a car question but I guess it would be akin to a bike being blown over by the wind.

My friend's van door got caught by the wind today (saturday, gusts up to 90km/r) causing it to over extend when it was being opened which in turn bent the door hinge & front 1/4 panel. what coverages would she need for it to be covered and would filing a complaint raise her rates?

I'm pretty sure that goes under comprehensive. It doesn't affect the rates but too many claims and they cancel it.

Yes comprehensive or Specified Perils will cover it.

Check the deductible to see if its even worth claiming - as stated before, it's a comp claim, so no direct impact to record, but if you start getting a few of these a year, companies will start asking questions or limit/exclude certain coverages.
