hohoho gunning down the youngins on 250s now . . . lmao thanks for the headsup!

The Jevco motorcycle insurance rates will change effective March 15th for new business and May 15th for renewal business. There is an increase I believe of approximately 8% overall. I believe that younger, newer riders on popular starter bikes such as the Ninja 250, CBR 250, etc will be hit harder than the overall average.
I just thought I would give the GTA a heads up so that if you have received a quote and are in a position to start your policy before March 15th you can save some money.
I will update the Major Jevco Update from John Duffy Insurance sticky as I get more info.

Faster, faster, faster, until the thrill of speed overcomes the fear of death.
I'm assuming the cbr125 is on that list as well?

That's awesome!
Before
Mr. Insurance: Are you a new rider?
New Rider: Yes.
Mr. Insurance: What sort of bike are you getting?
New Rider: 125cc
Mr. Insurance: Not a SS? Well, that's a responsible thing to do - we'd be happy to insure you for reasonable rates.
Now
Mr. Insurance: Are you a new rider?
New Rider: Yes.
Mr. Insurance: What sort of bike are you getting?
New Rider: 125cc
Mr. Insurance: Not a SS? Well, that's a responsible thing to do - we'd be happy to insure you for ridiculous rates that will make you sorry you even looked at a bike, you baby-kicking heathen.
Lol.
Damned if you do, damned if you don't.
Peeing in the gene pool...

oh perfect timing!
I was literally just on the phone with them to quote my new bike...
It still needs tires+safety before I can start riding...
Hopefully I'll be able to get all of it done b4 the 15th!

You " ...THINK the losses have been higher on the smaller bikes..." So, you don't really know, do you?
I'll bet that some little bean counters looked at the rising cost of health care and without any proof of rising claims just decided that an 8% pre-emptive strike was in order.
Yes, having been screwed over repeatedly by the insurance industry I tend to be very sceptical of anything they do or say.
Prove me wrong!

Well, crap. I'm in that crowd.
And did I read correctly? Insuring before the 15th will allow someone to avoid this hike for the year?
for sv650 jevco is usually the best option, has been for me for years.
was told about this a few weeks ago. its cheaper for me to insure a SS 600 then it is for my SV650 now. crazyness at its finest.
pffff....8% whoop dee doo. I just hope they renew me without looking at my abstract again, they won't believe the things I've done on a 250...
Typical of Jevco. Move from them as they are the Quebec scum of the insurance industry.
Thanks for this, i feel a bit more comfortable insuring my bike last week. I thought it was more of a newbie anxious mistake, but glad to know i had an awesome broker!*whew*
It seems to me the rate change is a bit higher than an 8% increase across the board...
