Like how they blur out the instrument display. Can't give away any data to those Yamakas.

It's not the lean angle so much as the amount of power he is putting down at that lean angle.

What is the dial he keeps turning with his left hand? It'd be cool to be able to see his hands to see how he's working the inputs/levers in some of those corners

Why did he use the kill switch while he's still coasting into the pits? Isn't that bad for the bike?

No, the gearbox is in neutral,, its essentially a $2mil bicycle.

Thanks! I had to look up what that actually does I'll admit, but seems important for racing. I'm still pretty new with this stuff...

I don't know, the engine sound and speed seem pretty consistent on the video, supposedly was the track's record

The comments on youtube say its a gyroscopic camera so it might be. I dunno. It just looks like the bikes pivoted through the windscreen and seems to swing underneath it. I'm pretty sure it's genuine, it's just a weird camera view.

It's a gyro cam, the same as they use in MotoGP. You lean, it stays level to the ground.

That windscreen was impressive stable for the speeds he was carrying. No apparent vibration at all. Is that normal for current SS bikes?

    Yes!
That is why they call them SS. Super Slippery when they cut through the wind.

Simoncelli apparently was asked if he was afraid of dying in a racing accident & he responded: "NO. You live more for 5 minutes going fast on a bike like that than other people do in all of their life."

Life's time is finite. Be honest & Let's Ride.

Lap Record depends on what kind of lap you're talking about - That being said a guy went faster than him a few years earlier:
