I guess I'm SOL for renting. Maybe I can find something out of town..
You can rent my 2007 zx6r anytime. But you'd have to leave a deposit of $6,500 cash
Ya these guys are jackasses. I called in October and asked if I could rent a bike. The guy said he only had a 500 on insurance and it was a $3000 deposit. I said I have to find a credit card to use. I found one and took the day off. I called back and some ***** who said she was the owner said I couldn't rent because the bikes were no longer insured (even after the guy specifically said the 500 WAS the only bike insured. This was only after she asked how old i was(25). She went on to change her story that if I crashed then her insurance company would drop her. I ended up telling her she was a ***** and I would try my best to let everyone who wants to use them know how they do business.
2012 Ducati Monster 696
One of the guys I did my M2X with rented a GS500 from there. The tires were in poor shape (rear was done and the front was cupped) and the chain was so loose I'm surprised it stayed on. If the obvious isn't being taken care of then what about the not so obvious?
dont do it....jackasses is right
Head bad things all around.

For anyone else that's interested I also found this:

The smallest bike they have though is a Suzuki 500 GS which is probably too much for me at this point but other people might find it of interest.
There's also this CBR 125 being rented by the owner: http://toronto.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehi...AdIdZ291845807
You will be fine, the GS500F is my first bike. I've had it for a good year now and love it.
It's impossible to do a wheelie, the rear break isn't hypersensitive (you won't lock it and murder yourself, just get into the mind set that front is for stopping, and rear is just for fun), and the top speed is around 180-200km/h (never hit 200, got VERY close but then bike started shaking so I got scared).
I've also got piss poor hand-eye coordination skills that are way below human average standards (fractured my skull from riding a bicycle, fractured my shin from soccer, dislocated shoulder from shoulder pressing).
You will be perfectly fine seeing as how I managed to tame this bike lol =)
