Ninja 250r Tire Height

I'm looking at replacing the tires on my newly acquired 08 Ninja, and am thinking of going with the Bridgestone BT45 HP set. The current stock front/rear sizes are 110/70-17 and 130/70-17. The replacement front tire has dimensions of 110/80-17, and the replacement rear is either 130/90-17 or 140/80-17.

I am assuming that the tire diameter size must remain consistent with the stock, and am wondering if someone would be able to confirm that. If it is, which would be more preferable from a comfort and riding perspective: a taller-than-front tire in the rear, or a wider than stock rear?

...Hahaha, yeah. Thanks for that humbling tip. I was already planning on buying them from Pete's and COMPLETELY missed the listed stock sizes - had the others bookmarked :P.

Try the Pirelli diablos. I used to have those on my 08 250r and liked them. There are stickier tires out there but the diablo is a good balance of durability vs stickiness.

I'll definitely check out the Perelli's, I've read some good things about those. The stock tires on the bike now are actually BT-45's as well. The front appears to be in good shape, but the rear has some side wall cracking all along the rim, on either side of the tire. I'm debating replacing both to have them remain consistent, or just the rear. I'd at least like the keep the tire make consistent, if only changing the rear.

And thanks for the read whetaus. I was debating the Avon's for a while, they're quite cheap.

Stock tires on the ZZR (250-H) were 100/80-17 ft and 140/70-17. Nothing wrong with the dual compound Bt 45's. Half the price if you buy stateside. If it is a 250R (F model) you need to be looking for 16 inch tires.

I've got BT-016s in 110/70-17F and 150/60-17R and LOVE them. Been thru 2 sets and I'll probably never switch.

I have the sport demon tire for my 250 and they are 100x better than my old bt-45 probably half the life but so worth it if u ride ur bike hard
