I've ridden the Honda and Ninja, and I have to say, the Ninja's better, even if you disregard cost.
The only appealing attribute of the Honda is the option for ABS. Otherwise, it's top-end speed is not great, and it doesn't have as much "get up and go" as the Ninja. First gear on the Honda is sub-50 km/h. It's ~60 km/h on the Ninja. This has an impact when you're riding street, as you're "supposed to" stay in the same gear through the intersection. On the Honda, you'll be looking for 2nd gear earlier in the intersection than you would on the Ninja. The Honda also seems to vibe more than the Ninja, if that were even possible!
Congrats on the pickup anyway, they're both great bikes. I just know that in a few years, when I've decided that a big litre bike is too much, I'll be back on the Ninja that started it all for me.
That's a slick looking 250. Not crazy about the yellow colour scheme but the pipe on it is nice.

I might trade the wife's cat, but only a "good" 250 would be worth the grief.
ABS is the best feature on a motorcycle since disc brakes. I wouldn't want a bike without it.
Saying that you shouldn't get it, because not all bikes have it doesn't cut it with me.
When I do the refresher course in the spring I have to slow down on the emergency braking section, so that riders without ABS, don't try to imitate me.
Ignorance is curable, Apathy not so much, but I don't care, I'll try anyway.
? marrying a motorcycle? ???? is this a new japanese trend?
Good choice on the Honda. Ninjas are fugly.
Hi!
Thanx, Xtina . How are the kids and I gonna get any sleep tonight? The Oshawa Santa Claus parade tomorrow night and a new bike! Oh boyohboyohboy...
I must have been a really good girl for Santa to come early, lol.
Mebbe next year a 600 .
*edit* oh, no..my t dub. I'm gonna have to let it go. Why am I actually feeling a little guilty about having to find my very first bike a new home?
