Hi All, just wanted to say hello. My name is Mike, been riding riding bikes 22 years started in motorcross as a kid, fun not competitive. Got my first street bike at 20 (start counting forward here LOL), an old 750 Yamaha and went through more bikes than I can recall. Stopped riding in around 2002 because to be honest I was an idiot. I was one of "those guys" doing wheelies etc and not realizing i wasn't invincible. After burying a few friends I sold all my bikes and honestly never rode a bike again until a few weeks ago. Being a little more mature I decided finally to get something to have some fun with and I picked up an 03 CBR 600RR with 4500kms on it. Being 6'2 260 means I have less opportunity to misbehave on the 600 which is perfect. I am in love again. Having a great time, modding the bike already and intend to hit the track this summer as I begin training to shave some weight (not fat but a really big guy and I could lose some weight ). Its a shame its getting cold but will make spring this much sweeter. I put about 600kms on the bike already so that will have to suffice.
Anyway thought I would say hello and look forward to meeting a number of you over the course of events and enjoy some riding be it a few twisties or hopefully relearning to ride at Cayuga or Mosport even for some fun. Nothing I need to prove as the ego is long gone but really excited about having some fun. Cheers.
I bet you are amazed how quick your CBR can keep up with that Z06 in the pic there!! I just picked up the same bike as you not too long ago and im in love with it!!!
