In Sepang....on 2nd lap of the race, Marco lost the rear mid corner. He appeared to be staying on the bike trying to save it, Nicky Hayden was able to get by, but Colin Edwards was not, and as Marco fell in front of Colin, he was hit so hard by Colin that his helmet even came off in the incident. Rossi was also unable to avoid the downed Marco as well, because once Marco was stuck beneath the bike it careened into the paths of Edwards and Rossi. Colin Edwards also came off his bike in the incident but was unhurt.
You will be missed #58. Great athlete, great rider, and happy go lucky young man. I met him at the Indy MotoGP in 2010. Fantastic guy.

RIP Marco, such a great rider.

1Also watched the race and saw the Horrific crash. In a matter of a split second riders piled into each other resulting in this terrible tragedy. RIP
RIP Marco. He was a brave and exciting rider to watch with a potentially even brighter future (race wins).
It looks like his left foot slid off the foot peg while in a turn with the bike stable. He is not the 1st to have that ever happen.
Rip Marco, thanks for giving us some exciting racing. He was superb in the Australian GP.
It's been a bad week in Motor sports.
RIP Marco
