Just noticed you're from London. The gun range that TAFB set up that shoot and ride day was in the London area and it was nice cause it was indoors for the hand guns and out doors for the riffles and shot guns. The people at the club where nice as well.

Take a trip up to Target Sports:
    http://www.targetsportscanada.com/pa...sitors/1000929

You have to go with atleast 1 other person. (they don't allow lone people to come in and shoot) if you can arrange a group and go that's much much better as you get more attention and they choose a good selection of guns/ammo.

That way you can see whether you like it and would want to continue further and get your PAL.

Or you can come to a real range instead

I'd have to go there and see whether I'd agree with your or not.

Is Silverdale an Outdoor range only? I don't see any indoor photos on their site.

IIRC, the range nearest to London is East Elgin Sportsmen's Association (EESA) in Aylmer. http://www.eesa.ca/index.php?pr=Map If you register on the www.canadiangunnutz.com forum, contact John (stormbringer). He is from the area and may be able to help you get acquainted with the club.

With the weather coming up Target might be a better choice. (and there are 2 seperate ranges with about 8 lanes each)

Come spring I'll give silverdale a try.

    Thanks for all the info.

Trap shooting last night was an absolute blast (despite the sideways rain and wind) and I'm hooked. I'll be signing up for a PAL and RPAL course soon (just need to fit it into the schedule).

Went to a club about 10 minutes from my house and very close to town (Crumlin for those that know the club) and liked the atmosphere. Will definitely be going back!

I shot some Trap today, first time in 14 years! 23 hits out of 25 on my first round, not too bad, but not how I would like it to be!
Bought a browning Maxus in the spring, put half a box of shells through it and it's been in the safe ever since, so it was great to get out and really shoot it... Very nice, smooth solid shooting gun!
