Only old school C programmers would know of him I suppose... Ritchie, Straustroup and Knuth were my first guides into the magnificent world of code.

he authored several of my University text books. I believe they still use those texts today. At the time, they were called the 'C' bibles.

Cuz he wasn't a self-promoting, self-aggrandizing egomaniac. He was an intelligent, scholarly person crafting a language and OS that he loved and that are the foundation of so much of our technology, including Apple OS-X. That doesn't make headlines..he's sort of the anti-Kardashian story..
