I've never seen a spider like this - it was freaky as hell. You can't see it in the picture, but it had huge fangs, and it would get on 2 legs and use the other 4 as claws every time we taunted it.
I've been trying to find out what it is/if it's rare/etc. 'cause I'm curious. I spotted it in Peterborough, if that helps.

Resident Loudmouth
Thanks D23. I'm pretty sure that's it!
It was by highway 10 & 7a at the maple leaf park soccer field
But I wikipedia'd it and these things can turn yellow (takes 10-25 days), but only turns 6 days to turn back to white because of the science behind it. That's pretty cool. And you're right, they're really common.
lmao dirty spider talkWhen a male finds a female, he climbs over her head over her opisthosoma onto her underside, where he inserts his pedipalps to inseminate her.
Yeah, the lady from Peterborough was laughing at us 'cause we were so intrigued. 6 people from Toronto all fixated on this spider...
thats one fine looking spider
I remember a story here in Peterborough about a spider with a few feet leg span running across George Street. They didn't catch it but a bunch of people saw it, and it was in the paper. This was like...... 12 years ago though.
