    Driving west to east

    I'm arranging to buy a bike in Washington state to drive back at a leisure pace.

    Any suggestions as to a scenic route thru the US at this time of the year?
    One bike isn't enough.

    there's some awful cold country twixt and between.

    While you are already out there I'd be heading south - how many times will you get to do HWY 101 in your life
