no news on current road conditions for this very lovely motorcycle route? this is a very popular motorcycling route and i would love to get out one last time but heading up there and finding the road all chewed up would be very disappointing to say the least. i was hoping someone here on this forum would have some up to date news on it's condition.

I haven't been there since early July, but again I found the roads on Elephant Lake road suck. It's a hard packed gravel, and didn't give a whole lot of support for my tires. Just take it easy and it should be a colourful ride this time of year .
" Run as fast as you can, then jump and slide on the pavement. Now think of traveling at 80 MPH and doing the same. Don't be a squid, wear proper gear. "
I was on that road not too long ago, and it was fine. My tires had no problem gripping, just be careful around the 50 zone for loose gravel.
Here's the thread from a few months ago. http://www.gtamotorcycle.com/vbforum...hant+lake+road
Not wearing gear while riding is like unprotected sex. Sooner or later you're going to get a rash!
i hit that road two or three times this year (last one was early september). Road is fine, no constructions but have heard speed traps are present due to recent accidents and deaths in the area.
"Life is pleasant. Death is peaceful. It's the transition that's troublesome."
Peterson Road has been resurfaced in tar and chip, using what appears to be 5/8" chipped flint . It is solid but extremely granular and, while grip is still available, cornering feel makes your jiggly bits crawl up pretty far at higher lean angles.
and Elephant lake rd is it all torn up still? i can live with the tar and chip i will just use caution and slow it up a bit and just enjoy the scenery.

Elephant Lake Road is good. Peterson will be good after the cage traffic has had a year to pound down the arrowheads.
All good today. Couldnt have asked for better weather in October!
