I use a CTEK battery charger that I got on sale at CDNTIRE a while back... it seems to work well. Also around 60$ I think from what I remember.

+1 for battery tenders. I have the BT Jr .. and have my battery continously hooked up year round when not in use.

This charger will do a fine job. These newer pure DC chargers are great. They actually charge faster but are easier on the battery than the old half wave bridge buzz box chargers. (cheap & nasty)

Battery tender for sure. I don't even pull the battery in the winter anymore. I just keep it on the battery tender all winter and in the spring, the bike fires up no problem.

I use that one, one for the motorcycle, one for my house trailer. It comes with the quick disconnects so you can hardwire a plug to your battery. It works well, plug it in and forget about it.

That same one goes on sale at half price fairly regularly.

I've been using my Optimate for some time and it's been flawless. Charged my car battery too without issue. The Optimate quick connectors make it a breeze to charge the battery any time. No need to take anything off the bike with those attached.

I paid $30 for my Battery Tender Jr about 8 years ago and have used it every winter (or any long parked period) since. Never had a battery go bad on me.
